Boiling water

To make things far simpler you can try using hot boiling water to clear drains.  You boil a cup of water and simply drain it into the blocked pipes and drains to get them cleaned. Such a type of cleaning may help dissolve the clogged particles, especially if they are organic matter and dissolve easily in water.

You can use this method on ceramic and metal items or PVC drain pipes to clear blocked drains. It can help clean blockages caused due to grease or food particles.

Make a solution using baking soda and white vinegar

One very efficient homely method to clear blocked drains and pipes is to make a solution of baking soda and vinegar into the drain blockage and allow the fizzling reaction to occur.

To make the solution, you have to put one tablespoon of baking soda in a cup of vinegar. You may even dilute the vinegar a bit using water.

Once you put the baking soda into the vinegar, stir it for a few seconds and quickly pour the solution into the blocked drains. To remove the block efficiently, you will have to repeat the process a few times.

All a few minutes for the reaction to take place completely. Once around 5-10 minutes are gone, you can pour a bowl of hot water through the pipe to ensure that the pipe or drain is cleaned thoroughly.

Using caustic cleaners

Caustic soda is commonly available in shops. Caustic soda, and sodium hydroxide, should dissolve all blockage particles such as grease, hair, food, and other mineral deposits.

But understand that these can be a bit dangerous and emits a lot of suffocating smoke too. Caustic soda is a very strong base and can even dissolve your sink, pipe, or other substances. Make sure to dissolve it in enough water before pouring out the solution into the blocked drains.

Try out using a plunger

A plunger is a good way to remove the blockage using suction to create a sudden vacuum that clears the blockage. Ensure to remove any residues on the mouth of the drain or the pipe to create a strong suction force.

Put the plunger on the mouth of the drain and start making a to and for motion holding the stick and applying upward and downward pressure. This is highly effective for any substance such as food particles to clear. Mineral deposits and hair-causing blockages might not be able to clear it.
