Some questions that you must ask your Mechanic

When your car breaks down or you are having some kind of difficulty with it, the first thing that pops in your mind is a mechanic. You cannot use the DIY tools to repair the electrical or mechanical faults of your car. You need to choose the right mechanic who can use the latest technology to make your car run fast on the road. This knowledge will help you in sustaining your car for a long time. Some of these questions are:

  1. Reason for squeaking in my brakes: Brake squeal can occur due to a plethora of reasons. It may be due to the glazing of the brake pad and the rotor. It can also occur when the anti-rattle clips get split. Wearing of the insulation shims also contributes to squealing brakes. Your mechanic is most likely to do a brake job. The brake job includes replacing the parts that have been damaged. This includes inspecting all the parts of a brake and also putting fresh brake fluid. Sometimes there is a bad smell or the smell of tar and coal that comes out from the brake fluid. in that case, you can use the best mechanics to take care of your gear, clutch, and brakes.

  2. Reason for damage to my tires: Tire damage is, unfortunately, a common occurrence and can be due to many reasons. It can be due to potholes or bumping into objects. It can simply be due to making long journeys in your car. Your car mechanic is likely to check the pressure of the tires and replace them. You must know the various causes of the damage and how to reduce it.

  3. Reasons for changing the driving belt: The driving belt in your car is made up of rubber. With time, the rubber becomes lose and becomes prone to tear. Many reasons could cause your driving belt to snap. There could be an issue with the idler pulley or there could be issues with the misalignment of the tensioner pulley. Your mechanic is most likely to replace it. A faulty driving belt could also cause overheating of the engine. It could also lead to the failure of the power and the AC system.

  4. Reason for changing the anti-freeze: Anti-freeze is one of the key ingredients of the coolant mixture in your car. After some time, the anti-freeze could cease to function and ultimately, start harming the internal parts of the cooling system. Your mechanic can suggest you change the ant-freeze. Changing it regularly keeps your car in optimum condition, but for this, you need to carry on with the regular maintenance schedule of the car.

  5. Reasons for changing the engine oil: The main purpose of the engine oil is to provide lubrication to the engine and allow smooth operation. It absorbs the heat of the engine. Due to the flow of time, the engine oil starts to break down and ultimately, stops absorbing the heat of the engine. This causes overheating of the engine. Your mechanic is likely to recommend you the time frame within which you should change the engine oil. It depends on the number of miles that your car has covered and how you drive your car.

  6. Reasons for changing the spark plugs: If you use spark plugs that no longer work then this can cause extensive damage to your car engine. It can also cause less mileage and make you fill your fuel tank more often.

A mechanic may seem like heaven-sent on a, particularly bad day. You must know as much about your car as you can. This will help you avoid tricky situations and emergencies in the future.
